jigdo-lite for Windows

Hello all,

well, at long last I've pulled myself together and created a version
of jigdo-lite for Windows. I could only test this version with some
example files created on my machine, not with "real-life" Debian
.jigdo files, so _PLEASE_ test it and tell me whether it works:

<http://atterer.net/jigdo/jigdo-win-0.6.8.zip>

Unlike jigdo-easy2win, it is not based on Cygwin, but on MSYS
<http://www.mingw.org/msys.shtml>, which makes the zip a little bit
smaller. The server selection process currently sucks because the
start of the list often scrolls off-screen - I should probably adapt
Anne's menu code for that. (If someone else wants to help me with
this, please do so!-)

The jigdo-lite script in the zipfile contains extensive changes
compared to the latest "official" release, so calling it "0.6.8" isn't
really correct - never mind...

Cheers,

Richard

Hi!
Post by Richard Atterer
well, at long last I've pulled myself together and created a version
of jigdo-lite for Windows.
This sounds just like what was needed for windows guys to download our
images.
Well, I could not test official woody jigdos as they seem to be restricted
at this time, but I have just run tests on cd 1 from
cdimage-unofficial.debian.net aka cdimage.trasno.net and it went smooth,
everything worked ok. This cds as you know have relative path for the
templates and also fallback servers, both this two features worked ok here.

So, I was wondering if now that we are having this tool for the windowsers
and that jigdo-easy is said to not be able to download offical images...
will this ones have relative paths for a better mirroring scheme?

Well, that's all I have tested right now, Richard, if you feel something
else needs to be tested just tell me.

Regards...

Thanks for the report - in the meantime, I also managed to test it on
some pre15 image myself.

The web page now recommends that everybody upgrade to 0.6.8, because
of the "driver-4.bin" cache bug in versions before 0.6.8. So if
everybody promises to help me answering those "it tried to download
http://woody-i386-1.template/" mails, I'd say we could change to
relative URLs. :)

However, I'm not sure if it's necessary. Also, maybe Phil doen't want
to change it this late.

Cheers,

Richard
